My Career Journey: From Linguistics to Game Engineering and Beyond

Hello everyone! I’m excited to share a bit about my professional path and how it’s shaped who I am today. In a world that’s evolving at lightning speed, deciding on a single career path and sticking with it can be challenging—yet it’s also what keeps me curious and adaptable. This is one of the reasons I created this website. To keep myself on track and share what I know with everyone who had the same struggles as me through their career and academic journey.

During my first years of school, I gravitated toward foreign languages, discovering my knack for picking up new languages. This interest naturally led me to pursue a degree in English Linguistics, so I could deepen my understanding of how language works—and how it shapes the way we think and communicate. Studying linguistics opened my eyes to the fascinating interplay between language and culture, fueling my curiosity to learn more about different countries and their people.

As my interests evolved, I discovered a new realm that combined technology and creativity: game development. This prompted me to move to Austria for a master’s degree in Game Engineering. Studying there exposed me to innovative ideas and techniques, and I immersed myself in projects that blended storytelling, sound, and visual design. My thesis on the evolution of game sound was incredibly rewarding and gave me hands-on expertise—from coding fundamentals to advanced game audio techniques. Because the world was embracing cutting-edge tech, I felt compelled to explore that field further, especially given my lifelong love for ‘80s games and consoles.

Today, I continue building on these foundations. My background in linguistics still guides how I communicate complex ideas in both writing and design. Meanwhile, my experience in game engineering has expanded my technical skill set, paving the way for me to explore graphic design, blog writing, and other creative endeavors.

Whether I’m drafting a blog post, conceptualizing a visual layout, or brainstorming how to integrate sound into an interactive environment, I remain inspired by the same core passions: creativity, innovation, and a genuine love for sharing knowledge. I’m excited to see where the journey leads next—because no matter where I go, I know I’ll be creating, learning, and growing every step of the way.
